Shepparton to Manangatang

Monday May 12th

We left home with my sister Jan and our brother in law George after enjoying a final cup of tea and toasted date scones with our sister Sue and her husband Bob. We enjoyed warm sunshine for the whole day. There was only light traffic so it was easy travelling. We followed Len and Marie (strangers) for a while before passing them. When we stopped they did too and we found we are all heading in the same direction. They were planning to stop at Lake Charm overnight. When we stopped for lunch at Kerang they did too. It will be interesting to see if we meet up again. At Kerang we met up with our friends Woody and Treas. After lunch near an attractive park we continued on to Manangatang where we found a free camp near the railway line. In it there were hot showers, clean, well maintained toilets and an undercover shelter. We even had power, and all for a donation. We spent the afternoon under a tree enjoying the company. The only tourist attraction in Manangatang is the wheat silo and that was right beside our campsite. On the other side was a park with free barbecues.
